Boat Timeshares - A Unique Vacationing Experience
Author: Dana Sanders
If you’ve dreamed of sailing the seven seas, but don’t necessarily have the bank account to buy a luxury vessel, don’t despair. There are ways to make that dream happen without breaking your bank.
Boat timeshares offer a unique vacationing experience for almost any budget. By getting involved in a timeshare, you have the right to use that luxury vessel to make your dreams come true, but you alone are not solely responsible for all the expenses. Timeshares provide an excellent way for someone not willing or able to take on the
expense of purchasing a great vacationing boat themselves to still experience the adventure of life on the water.
A variety of companies offer would-be Captain Ahab’s the ability to take to the sea without shelling out a lot of cash.
Boat timeshare companies and programs are readily available and accessible across the Internet. Boating timeshare companies are active all over the world with even some finding their homes on America’s Great Lakes.
Basically, a boat timeshare offers a sailor a chance to buy into a piece of a boat for a season. Similar to a yacht club, but without all the expenses of owning your own yacht, these programs lets sailors sail minus the headaches. Some programs allow members to purchase blocks of time over the course of a sailing season to use a boat. Many programs work by giving several “skippers” the same boat during the sailing season. These skippers book multiple sail times, show up, sail, have a blast and return the boat for the next skipper to take over.
While boat timeshares provide everything needed to sail, members still are responsible for making sure the boat is in good condition when it’s returned. Swabbing the deck isn’t out of the question. However, many timeshare programs will even go as far as to include maintenance, fuel and so on in the initial price. This leaves the member responsible for simply safely piloting the vessel, keeping it clean and enjoying their high seas adventure with their family and friends for a fraction of the price of owning a yacht themselves. The insurance, boat licensing and other worries are generally handled by the timeshare company itself.
For those who lack the skills to man their own vessels, many boat timeshares will provide a crew including a captain, instructor, and/or cook at a small additional cost. One company in particular, Trade Winds Cruise Club, offers all-inclusive cabin rentals and is RCI’s (Resorts Condominiums International) only Caribbean yachting affiliate. As an RCI Member, you have the option of exchanging your timeshare week for a cabin space onboard crewed catamaran charters.
So, what is pricing like for these nautical adventures? Not bad considering a luxury boat can cost thousands and thousands of dollars. And even better when you consider buying your own boat doesn’t include fuel, maintenance, licensing and insurance costs and so on! A timeshare that covers an entire boating season can cost upwards of $7,000, a reasonable expense considering the headaches removed by taking part in such a venture.
To learn more about boat timeshares and the unique vacation opportunities they provide, just log on to the Internet and visit locations such as http://www.atimesharesz.com/boattimeshare to do a thorough search. A variety of companies with different programs and options are operating in a bevy of locations around the world.

Timeshare Vacations For Dummies (Dummies Travel)
Timeshare Vacations For Dummies is new guide to timeshare vacations for the 3 million North Americans who own timeshares around the world and the 210,000 (7%) more who buy them each year. There are 5,425 timeshare resorts in the world, 1,590 of them in the U.S. Timeshares are a natural subject for a Dummies book, because the process can be confusing, even threatening, and people need help steering safely through the shoals. The guide answers questions from both existing timeshare owners and those who are considering buying one; what are the smartest ways to buy and sell; are timeshares a wise investment; how do owners find the best swaps; which resorts and destinations offer the best deal for your money, interests and schedule, both domestically and abroad. Customer Review: Pretty good primer for beginners I found the book fairly informative and basic for those of us completely new to timeshare. I have to think some of the reviewers here never read this book, because the author indeed goes out of her way to reference informative webpages (including tug2.net mentioned here and others) for further information. Did a good job of breaking down the "lingo" that I had a hard time slogging through online. A good place to start, but not the be-all and end-all if you really need to learn about time shares, but I don't think it was meant to be. But this book is certainly a good jumping-off place. Customer Review: My playing field is more level now Concise, infromative, objective. Presents both the pros and cons. I've signed up for a timeshare (that is "vacation club") presentation now that I'm armed with some intelligent questions to ask. And I'm getting three full days plus some dinners at a place I wouldn't spring for otherwise.
The Suburban Timeshare
The story focuses on four neighbouring households in a quiet suburban village south of Manchester: one of them is a family of foxes. The book is episodic in form, touching on a day here and a night there. The days belong to the people and the nights to the foxes (hence, The Suburban Timeshare), and the structure of the book reflects this pattern of life, with alternating chapters switching between human and fox viewpoint. Often there is an overlap between the chapters just as people and foxes overlap at dusk and dawn, interacting warily though amicably, each puzzling over the other's nature. Novel questions arise: We may feel that we have developed a genuine friendship with an animal in the wild, but how does the animal see it? And what are the chances of meaningful communication between humans and wildlife? There are four sections, covering four consecutive years from cubbing time to the next mating season. The total four-year period spans the lifetime of one particular fox, from his birth to his death. He is a member of the first litter born in the area, so this period also represents the first few years of contact between people and foxes. When the foxes first arrive, they evoke the usual mixed feelings - surprise, curiosity, some admiration, some fear. But over the ensuing years the human neighbours find that their lives are enriched in unforeseen ways. Emotional bonds develop, sufficiently powerful to cause both rapture and pain. A kind of love. Author's note - Realism versus Anthropomorphism: I aim to portray fox behaviour in a way that is emphatically realistic. Indeed, though my main purpose is to tell a story of our time, I would like to think that, by the end, the reader is reasonably well informed about the ways of a fox. TREGOLWYN BOOK REVIEWS says...This delightful story... grabs the reader's attention and keeps hold of it - I was hooked after the first few paragraphs. Stunning prose...the style is vivid and economical with startling use of metaphor. I loved the understated humour... remarkable story-telling talent. ...and continues... If it weren't for the human characters to whom half the action belongs, "The Suburban Timeshare" could almost be non-fiction. The author is a fox enthusiast who knows his stuff, and it is his deep emotional attachment to the subject that makes this such a compelling read. Nor does Mr Hillel, for all his love of the species, ever descend into sentimentality. How does a human being manage to put himself so completely and so convincingly inside the skin of a "dumb" animal? I have no idea. It requires a degree of skill and understanding far beyond what most writers possess. [http://tregolwyn.tripod.com/tregolwyn/index.html] DR J DAVID HENRY [author of, 'Red Fox, The Catlike Canine'] says...A fine book. Your descriptions of the foxes are fresh and insightful, and make them come alive on the pages of the book. These passages are Vulpine Ecology expressed in a completely new way. It's a real joy to read. SOME READERS' COMMENTS...
